Warren Buffett invests in Oil & Gas

U.S. star investor Warren Buffett invests in oil and gas. According to the latest report by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, his investment company Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) (BRK.B) has bought shares of energy multinational ExxonMobil, worth $ 3.7 billion.

Purchase prices were between $86.42 and $95.2, with an estimated average price of $90.22. The impact to Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio due to this purchase was 3.7%. His holdings were 40,089,371 shares as of 09/30/2013. Exxon Mobil Corporation has a market cap of $407.23 billion; its shares were traded at around $93.22 with a P/E ratio of 12.20 and P/S ratio of 0.94. The dividend yield of Exxon Mobil Corporation stocks is 2.64%. Exxon Mobil Corporation had an annual average earnings growth of 7.00% over the past 10 years. (Forbes)

According to Bloomberg financial services, this is Buffett's largest equity deal since buying IBM shares two years ago for $ 10.7 billion. Further investments in the tens of billions were: "Oracle of Omaha" the credit card company American Express, the beverage company Coca-Cola, as well as the bank Wells Fargo.

Buffett's iron policy is to invest only in companies whose business he understands and from ExxonMobil he has now 40.1 million shares in his portfolio. The U.S. oil company has long been the most valuable publicly traded company in the world, until it was overtaken by iPhone maker Apple. The Esso gas station chain is also part of ExxonMobil.
